· Fill a separate container with snow and just observe what happens to it during the course of the day.
· Fill a bird feeder and watch the birds. Go online and print out pictures of the birds you see. Make a bird book.
· Look through old magazines and find pictures of things that start with “M” and “T.” (Really emphasize the beginning sounds. Mmm mitten, Mmm mouse.) Cut them out and make a sound book.
· Read lots of books with your child.
· Sing songs. Look under “Songs we Sing” on the Toddler Web Page for current songs from school.
· Make homemade Valentines for family and friends.
· Experiment with things that “Sink & Float.” This can be done during bath time!
· Count objects
· Go on a “color” hunt in your home. Find objects that are red. Next time find things that are blue, etc…
· Using children’s safety scissors let your child cut up the junk mail.
· Match socks
· Bake cookies. Let your child help pour in ingredients.
· Go out and play in the snow. Build a snowman. Make snow angels.
